This will be primarily a personal diary, but hopefully also a resource for bicycling on the Avalon Peninsula, Newfoundland. Most of the rides described here will start from downtown St. John's since that's where I live. I do a bit of randonneuring and light touring, so the entire Avalon will certainly be within scope. The total distance around the Peninsula by road is around 700 kilometers; a single 600 km brevet could just about encompass it.
I will not address mountain and trail biking, though there's a significant community devoted to these diciplines in St. John's - it simply isn't my forté so I'll leave it alone.
I reserve the right to digress: I sometimes ride brevets in Nova Scotia with the Randonneurs club based in Halifax, and you'll see them documented here from time to time. My summer vacations may also take me off the island with my bike.
